Rosetta Brown's Obituary
Rosetta Brown, daughter of the late Mack Galloway and Sarah Brown, was born on October 29, 1932 in Davidsonville, Maryland. She was the second youngest of nine brothers and sisters. She departed this life, peacefully at home, on Sunday, August 14, 2022.
She married her husband, the late Mack A. Brown on 7 September 1950. From this union
came seven children, Michael, Ronald, Aundra, Steven (Desirae), Keith, Lovenus and Wain (Tara).
She was educated in the Anne Arundel County school system, returning to school at the age of 35 to obtain her high school diploma.
Rosetta started her church life early and attended Chews and Hope United Methodist before moving to Annapolis in 1954. She joined Mount Moriah A.M.E. Church in 1957. under the leadership of the Reverend A. R. Powell. She was active in the works of the church and sang on the choirs; served as a junior trustee and treasurer of the Combined Choir. She was a member of the Arline Johnson Nurses Unit since its inception and served as the unit’s Vice President for numerous years.
She loved family gatherings, reading and watching TV, especially game and judge shows. She also loved watching the Orioles play and was a die-hard Orioles fan.
Her favorite scripture was the 23rd Psalm and her philosophy in life was to help someone as she passed along the way so that her living would not be in vain.
Rosetta was preceded in death by her husband, Mack and son Michael; brothers, McClain, John, Robert, Alton and sisters, Lillian, Margaret, Helen and Gladys.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory 6 children; 16 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Mrs. Elizabeth Galloway and Mrs. Bessie Turner; adopted sister, Mrs. Betty Edwards, adopted daughter, Mrs. Teri Lee Edwards, nieces, nephews and a host of other family and friends including two special friends, Mrs. Josephine Franklin and Ms. Regina Laster.
