Rose Margaret Ambrosi's Obituary
Rose “Dada” Margaret Ambrosi (Sorrell), 84, passed away peacefully in her home in Annapolis, MD, on December 19, 2023. Dada was born in Birmingham, Alabama, on August 7, 1939, the daughter of Rosa Belle Searcy and Albert Hugh Sorrell. Dada attended West End High School in Birmingham as an Honor Society and Debate Club member. Upon graduation, at age 18, she moved to Washington D.C., to work for the Department of Health, Education and Welfare. While in DC, she met her husband, Anthony “Tony” Charles Ambrosi, DDS. Dada worked as the office manager when they opened a dental practice together in Silver Spring, MD. She continued as office manager while raising their four children. Upon retirement from his dental practice, Tony and Dada spent time in Cambridge and Hagerstown, MD., where they enjoyed renovating historic homes. They also spent time at vacation homes on Kent Island and in Berkeley Springs, WV. Dada’s decorating interests and talents were evident in her many beautiful homes. She was an avid reader and always had many books nearby and reading glasses in each room. Dada was known for graciously hosting fabulous dinner parties, and she was famous for the lasagna and meatballs she prepared for family holidays and gatherings.
Dada was predeceased by her husband in 2014, after which she moved to Annapolis. Her brothers Hugh, John, Curtis, Leroy, and Jerry Sorrell predeceased her. Dada is survived by her four children Anthony Charles Ambrosi, Jr. (Traci Matturro), John Dominic Ambrosi, Rose Elizabeth Reeser (Marc) and Stephen Joseph Ambrosi (Angela Radcliffe); sister Patsy McDaniel (William), brother-in-law Dominic Ambrosi (Dale Stein), ten grandchildren; Nicole, Anthony, Angela, Jennifer, Samantha, Christen, Kyle, Victoria, Stephen and Helen and seven great-grandchildren; Michael, Dominic, Bella, Joey, Charlotte, Julianna, and Finley.
A viewing will be held on January 4th from 3:00-5:00 PM at Lasting Tributes, 814 Bestgate Rd, Annapolis, MD 21401. Burial will be private.
