Rosa Mae Parker's Obituary
Rosa Mae Parker, known as Rosie/Grandma Rose, and Froggy to family and friends, departed this life on July 1, 2017, at the age of 58. Born in Harwood, Maryland to the late Josephine Downs and Leon Parker on November 2, 1958.
Rose was a loving, caring and helpful person to everyone that she encountered. Rosie enjoyed many hobbies; her favorites were cooking, playing card games, watching soap operas, listening to music and babysitting. She was a wonderful person with a heart of gold. Rosie was always willing to help anyone, whether she knew them personally or from her neighborhood. Rosie will be truly missed.
Rosa’s employment depicted her personality. She worked as a private duty caretaker, helping to care for the elderly. Her passion was the children and she became the babysitter for the working parents in the neighborhood.
Rosa is proceeded in death by her parents: Josephine Downs and Leon Parker, 3 loving sisters: Laverne Parker, Ardena Parker, and Louise Thomson, 1 brother, Nelson Thompson, and 1 grandson, Marquis Beavers.
Rosa leaves to mourn two children, Sheila Moulden-Brandford and Roland Moudlen, 1 sister Anna Parker, 2 brothers: Phillip Downs and Edward Parker, and 1 son-in-law: Albert Brandord, 5 grandchildren: Shawanda Pelzer, Malik Beavers, Raheem Brandford, and Marquis Taylor, along with a host of nieces and nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and her best friends: Jasmin Brown, Janice Diggs, Janice Dailey, Buddy, Ann Crowner, and Patricia Holland.
