Roland Joseph Tetreault Jr.'s Obituary
Roland Joseph Tetreault Jr. “Frenchie,” 83, of Annapolis, MD passed away in his home on August 19, 2025. He was born on July 23, 1942 to Cecille and Roland Tetreault. With his brother Michael and sister Michelle he grew up in Connecticut. Joining the Navy after high school, Roland served for 28 years in radio communications.
Roland was preceded in death by his parents, Cecille and Roland Sr., and his son John Tetreault. He is survived by siblings Michael and Michelle, daughters Tennile and Laura, 8 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and one on the way.
During his extensive time in the Navy, he served on the USS Independence, the USS Nimitz, and the USS Eisenhower, and finished his career in the Joint Chiefs of Staff. While serving at OpNav at the Pentagon, Roland earned the title of Sailor of the Year. Following his Naval career, Roland worked at and retired from Loews Hotel in Annapolis. In his younger years, he enjoyed bowling, and even earned the nickname “The Hammer.” He had many hobbies including jigsaw puzzles, reading, stamp and coin collecting, bowling, hunting and fishing, as well as watching professional sports.
A memorial service will be held on Monday September 22, 2025 at 1:45 pm at Crownsville Veterans Cemetery. 1122 Sunrise Beach Road, Crownsville, Md 21032.
