Roberta Louise Standa's Obituary
Roberta Louise Standa, 88, of Annapolis, MD formerly of Upper Marlboro, MD and born in Johnstown, PA died peacefully on October 21, 2017. A beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Bobbie was born on March 31, 1929 to the late George I. and Evelyn F. Riblett of Conemaugh, PA. She graduated from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. After her teaching career, she retired from the National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Administration following years of dedicated service.
Bobbie is survived by life confidant Joseph Standa and was the cherished mother of JoEllen (Jim) Myers, Beth (Sean) O’Donnell, the late Cathy (Phil) Swider and the late Tom Standa, adored grandmother of Leeann (Justin), Melissa (James), Jimmy (Jessica), Megan (Jason), Danny (Cathrin), Brian (Yaneli), Tina (Casey), and Toni and great grandmother of Giovanni, Gage, the late Gracey, Justin, Jamie, Jacob, Jennifer, Brendon, Kalina, and Ainsley, and treasured sister of the late Jack Riblett. Family and friends are invited to Bobbie’s Remembrance Tribute from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, October 27th 2017 at Lasting Tribute Funeral Home, 814 Bestgate Road, Annapolis, Maryland. Memorial contributions in lieu of flowers to the Hospice of the Chesapeake would be appreciated. Internment will be private.
