Robert Oscar Skidmore's Obituary
Robert Oscar Skidmore, longtime resident of Millersville passed away peacefully on April 24, 2015 surrounded by his family. Bob was a contractor who built custom homes and businesses until he retired in 1991. Originally from West Virginia, Bob moved to Maryland with his bride, Emogean Gumm Skidmore in 1950. Bob was an avid reader; he enjoyed working in his woodshop and spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife Emogean, son Robert Skidmore of Annapolis, son Michael Skidmore of Millersville, daughter Patricia Skidmore of Annapolis, son John Skidmore (Michelle) of Millersville, daughter Joan Twigg (Richard) of Gambrills. Seven grandchildren: Rob Skidmore, Shelly Skidmore, Leah Skidmore, Rebecca Skidmore, Emily Twigg, Elizabeth Twigg and Anna Twigg. Four great-grandchildren: Joseph, Brianna, Rylie and Jordan. Also surviving are three of Bob’s siblings: Jim Skidmore of West Virginia, Karen Kniceley of Ohio and Helen Crane of Alabama.
Witty, quirky and lovable, Bob will be missed by all who knew him.
To honor Bob’s wishes, he will be cremated and the family will celebrate his life privately.
