Robert McFerrin Lewis' Obituary
Robert McFerrin Lewis of Annapolis, MD died peacefully in his home on December 27, 2012. He was 79.
Robert was born in Nashville, TN on February 21, 1933 to Fred and Maude Lewis. He is of Native American ancestor, on his maternal side. In 1951 he enlisted in the U.S. Army. After completing a three year term, he attended the Tennessee School of Broadcasting in Nashville, TN.
Robert re-enlisted in the Army in 1956 and while on assignment in Germany, he met and married the love of his life, Lieselotte Keth, of Worms, Germany. Together they had a beautiful life.
He served with distinction in both the Korean and Vietnam wars, and is a recipient of the Bronze Star. One of the highlights of his career was being stationed in Berlin as a broadcaster for AFN. After retiring from the military Robert joined the Federal Reserve Board.
Robert is survived by his wife, Lieselotte; his son and daughter-in-law: Ronald and Karina Lewis of Fredericksburg; granddaughters: Alexandra, Gabriella, and Natalia; and brothers: Fred and James Lewis.
