Robert Camille Houlne's Obituary
Robert (Bob) Camille Houlne of Millersville, MD quietly passed away at his home on December 25, 2023, with his family by his side.
Bob was born in Manchester, New Hampshire on May 3, 1936, the son of John and Christine Houlne. Bob attended Manchester High School Central. Afterwards, he went on to earn his Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering at the University of New Hampshire which led to his 26-year career as an Electrical Engineer at Westinghouse in Maryland. This is where he met his bride of 50 years, June, and married on June 8, 1973.
Bob retired from Westinghouse in 1994 and then went back to work at Northrop Grumman until 2010. After leaving Northrop Grumman, Bob was an Associate Professor for the Frostburg University teaching Electrical Engineering for three years.
Bob could fix anything. Among his many talents and hobbies, he loved playing the organ, enjoyed sail boating, skiing, bowling, taking his grandchildren fishing, building projects with his grandsons, watching old Westerns but most of all he was a family man, and it was important to him to make others smile, laugh and enjoy life.
Bob and June loved to travel. They visited family in Florida, New England, Scotland and the Midwest. They went on cruises with friends, as well as, traveling overseas. Bob spent time in Spain working as an Electrical Engineer for Westinghouse which brought him many fond memories that he loved to share with his family.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, C. June Houlne; two daughters, Deborah Ann Bush (Wayne) and Jo Ellen Liverette; ten grandchildren; twenty-three great grandchildren; six great-great grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his daughter Dorothy Jean Houlne and sisters Mildred Downs and Charlotte Williams.
Visitation will be at Lasting Tributes Funeral Care, 814 Bestgate Road, Annapolis, MD 21401 on Tuesday, January 2, 2024 at 10:30 a.m. directly followed by a funeral service at 11:30 a.m. at the same location. His interment will be a private ceremony with his family at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Annapolis.
