Robert Markee Creager's Obituary
Robert Markee Creager passed away Thursday, June 9 in Baltimore, MD. He was 93.
Born March 21, 1918, he was the son of George L. Creager Jr. of Hanover, PA and Elizabeth S. (Mount) Creager of Donegal Bay, Ireland. He graduated from William Penn High School in Harrisburg, PA in 1936. He became employed at Bendix Radio Division Towson, MD, where he worked for 45 years. On July 12, 1942 he married Dorothy Jane (Dietrich) Creager of Steelton, PA. She preceded him in death on October 12, 1991.
Bob was very proud, private, quiet, and organized. He enjoyed gardening, dancing with Dorothy, and eating crabs. He also spent many hours searching family Genealogy. He enjoyed tennis, and he played so that he made all the other players do the running. He always enjoyed building electronics such as radios, TV’s, and color TV’s. He also built furniture, his work included work benches, a sewing cabinet, a sandbox, and cabinets for an organ and speakers. He built and played his own organ and speakers due to his love for classical organ music. Bob loved his family, good jelly beans and party mints. His favorite places were “Browns Farmers Market,” Centenary UMC of Steelton PA” “Allenberry, PA” and “Las Vegas.”
He is survived by three children, Robert Larry Creager (Lynn), Dorothy Elaine Creager-Barnard (Tom), and Patricia Margaret Creager-Powers (Gary); six grandchildren, Jeffery Marshall Bivens, Daniele Marie Griffith, Kevin Oregon Fischbach Jr., Ashley Michelle Clauer, Catherine Margaret Powers and Dorothy Jane Powers; and four great-grandchildren, Dylan Marshall Bivens, Jack Conner Griffith, Morgan Bryn Griffith and Charles Joseph Clauer IV. In addition to his wife and parents, he is predeceased by a half brother, Gray H. Creager Sr.
Family and friends will be received at Evans Funeral Chapel and Cremation Services, 3 Newport Drive, Forest Hill, MD 21050 (Routes 23 and 24), Thursday, June 16th from 10 am - 12 pm, with funeral services to be held at 12 pm. Burial will be at Jarrettsville Cemetery immediately following funeral services.
