Robert R. Conley's Obituary
Robert R. Conley, age 73, of Annapolis, Maryland, passed away on Thursday, August 14, 2025.
He was doing what he loved—bowling. He won the first game, was winning the second, bowled a strike, high-fived his friends, sat down, and died. God was smiling on him that day.
Robert grew up in Cross Keys, New Jersey, and graduated from Williamstown High School. He worked in landscaping with a friend and neighbor. Later, he moved to Northern Virginia to be closer to his brother, Jeff, and sister-in-law, Joyce, and worked as a houseman for a hotel there. He eventually followed his brother and sister-in-law to Annapolis, Maryland, where he worked at the Giant Foods grocery store on Bay Ridge until he retired in 2022.
Besides bowling, he loved to go fishing and often caught the first and largest fish of the day. He was a quiet, gentle man who would do anything to help others.
He was predeceased by his father, Russell E. Conley, and his mother, Florence E. Conley. He is survived by his brother, Jeffrey Conley, and sister-in-law, Joyce Conley; his nephew, Jeffrey Conley, along with his wife, Maricarmen Conley, and their son, Matteo; and his nephew, Marc Conley.
Services will be held at Calvary United Methodist Church, 301 Rowe Blvd, Annapolis, MD 21403, at 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 30, 2025. In lieu of flowers, donations to Back Pack Buddies at Calvary United Methodist Church are gladly accepted.
