Robert Alan Coffey, Sr.'s Obituary
Robert A. Coffey died peacefully on July 16, 2026. Born in 1930 in San Francisco, CA. Bob grew up in Bozeman, Montana - eventually moving East to Washington, DC and ultimately Annapolis, MD where he lived most of his life.
Bob graduated from Gallatin County High School in 1948 and went on to graduate from Montana State University where he was a member of Sigma Chi fraternity. While living in Bozeman he was an avid hunter and fisherman. Bob served briefly in the Navy where he discovered his love of flying while in flight training school. He had a successful professional career - working in the insurance industry for over 35 years - culminating in the formation of his own insurance brokerage firm along with two partners.
Bob will be remembered for his love of sailing, tennis, dry humor and unique ability to delight others with his storytelling which was often loosely based on his real life experiences.
Bob is preceded in death by his parents, Royal and Margaret, wife Amiee, and his brother Jim Coffey. He is survived by his two children - Jan Shea (Paul), Bob Coffey (Jeanine), five grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held at a date to be determined.
