Richard G. Stack, SFC USARMY (RET)'s Obituary
Richard G. Stack of Annapolis, MD passed away peacefully on October 18, 2012 at the age of 65.
Richard was born in Virginia on May 24, 1947 to Mary Mangolas and Jessie Stack. He enlisted in the US Army in 1969 and severed two tours in Vietnam. In 1974 Richard was honorably discharged and reenlisted as active duty in 1976 with the National Guard. In 1999, he was honorably discharged as Sgt. 1st Class with the accomplishment of being a two time recipient of the Army Commendation Medal.
In addition to his wife, Ruth Ann Day-Stack, he is survived by five children; Richard Travis Stack, Pasadena, CA, Christy Ann Roche of Westminster, MD, Jennifer Lynn Breeden of Millersville, MD, Jami Ann Nickerson of Edgewater, MD and James Amore Day, Jr. of West Palm Beach, FL; sixteen grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
A Remembrance Tribute will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 23rd between 6 PM and 8 PM, including a military remembrance service at 7:30 PM, at Lasting Tributes Cremation & Funeral Care 814 Bestgate Rd. Annapolis, MD 21401.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made on behalf of retired SFC Stack to the Military Order of the Purple Heart Service Foundation, Inc 7008 Little River Turnpike, PO Box 49 Annandale, VA 22003.
