Richard John Getek, 90, of Arnold, Maryland, passed away peacefully on March 23, 2026.
Richard was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather whose steady presence and enduring commitment left a lasting legacy.
Richard is survived by his beloved wife of 67 years, Victoria Getek, with whom he shared a lifetime of love, partnership, and cherished memories. Together, they built a strong family foundation that continues to grow through generations.
Richard is also survived by his five sons: Richard, Raymond, Robert, Ronald, and Frank, who carry forward his values of hard work, integrity, and care for others. He was a proud grandfather to sixteen grandchildren and one great-grandchild, all of whom brought him immense pride and happiness.
Richard served as a commissioned officer in the United States Army and stationed in Korea for 14 months. He received a master’s degree from the University of Richmond and was a financial advisor. He is remembered for his love of family, his steady character, and sense of humor. His life stands as a testimony to commitment, perseverance, and the quiet impact of a life well lived. Funeral mass will be held on June 27th. Arlington National Cemetery will be his final resting place.
He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
