Regina "Gina" Kopack's Obituary
Regina “Gina” Lee Kopack, 57, of Edgewater MD, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loved ones on Sunday, September 26th, 2021. She fought a long courageous battle with metastatic breast cancer. During her four year battle, Gina remained positive, strong and selfless in her devotion of always putting the needs of others first.
Gina was born in Baltimore, MD on August 19th, 1964 to Leonard and Regina Callis. She married Alan Kopack on May 12th, 1990 and moved to Edgewater, MD. After raising her family Gina became a CNA, working for Hospice of the Chesapeake for many years. She also worked as an Administrative Assistant for Axom Technologies and then resumed her passion as a personal caregiver. Gina loved the beach, spending time with her family, and drinking her Starbucks coffee while reading or watching her favorite crime shows.
Gina was preceded in death by her sister, Denise Callis, brother, Kirk Callis, niece, Shardeh Callis Watkins and nephew, Kirk Callis, Jr. She is survived by her husband Alan Kopack, her daughters, Brianna Hoggard (Michael), Katrina Vain, Chelsea Owen (Micah), Marisa Shepard (Jacob), her eight grandchildren, her parents, Leonard and Regina Callis, sister, Lorraine Norris (Matthew), and brother, Shane Callis (Amanda).
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, October 2nd, 2021 at Lasting Tributes Funeral Care, 814 Bestgate Road, Annapolis, MD from 2-4 P.M. followed by a memorial service. In lieu of flowers, the family suggest donations to Hospice of the Chesapeake, 90B Ritchie Hwy, Pasadena MD 21122.
