Ramona Lenora Brown's Obituary
Ramona Lenora Brown, 64, entered eternal rest on March 16, 2024. She was born on May 19, 1959 in Charlotte, NC to her parents, the late Levi Brown, Jr. and Marjorie (Deal) Brown. She later moved to Annapolis, MD where Ramona furthered her career and raised her own family.
Ramona obtained her formal education from University Park Coolwood, West Charlotte High School, and Winston Salem State University. She was a hard worker. Everyone knew that they could turn to her for anything they needed, especially a new set of tires! She worked as a Store Manager in the Automotive industry. There wasn’t an automotive retailer where she didn’t work. Her career included Mr. Tire, NTB Auto, Merchants Tire and Auto, and Firestone.
Ramona knew the Lord at a young age and was the musician for the youth choir in her early years in North Carolina. Ramona continued her Christian journey in Annapolis, MD first at Mount Olive AME where her father served as pastor. And then at The Rapture Church under the leadership of Bishop Craig Coates and Fresh Start Church until the time of her passing. Ramona was a true worshiper and everyone knew she was in the house when you saw her amazing and bodacious hats.
Ramona was known beyond being a hard worker and a dedicated child of the Lord, but also as a natural nurturer. She had the most vibrant energy. Anyone in her presence would be captivated by her magnetic smile. She loved to help people. There wasn’t a thing that Ramona wouldn’t give to make sure that someone else was cared for if they needed it. Her energetic spirit was truly one to rival someone half her age. There wasn’t a person she encountered who didn’t call her a friend. As the photos show, Ramona was a fashionista through and through. While she wore the bodacious hats to church, she was known for her overall style. She never took a bad picture!
A woman of many hobbies, Ramona loved cooking, baking, sewing, taking pictures (again, there isn’t a bad one to be found!), watching movies and her Dallas Cowboys, gardening, listening to Gospel music, attending live shows, and exercising her own skills as a musician by playing piano and violin.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her mother, Marjorie Deal Brown; one daughter, Monique Davis; one son, Tyjae Brown; and a host of adopted children and friends who have become her family.
A public viewing will be held on Saturday, March 23, 2024 from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm at Fresh Start Church, 120 N Langley Road, Glen Burnie, MD 21060. Her funeral service will immediate follow at 12:00 pm. For those who are unable to attend, a livestream link will be posted .
