Priscilla K. Sanger's Obituary
Priscilla (Pat) Kelder Sanger, 85, died on December 26, 2012, in Annapolis Md. after a long illness.
She was known for her gentle nature, her ready smile, and her devotion to her family. Mrs. Sanger was born in Oak Park, Illinois on July 9, 1927, to the late Julius and Julia Kelder. After graduating from North Park College in Chicago in 1948, she married William A Sanger in Park Ridge, Ill., after he returned from his deployment in the Navy during World War II. Accompanying her husband to his assignments in Rockford, Highland Park, and Northbrook Ill. for a major telecommunications company, Mrs. Sanger stayed home to raise two daughters. In 1962, her husband returned to service in the Naval Intelligence and the family moved to the suburbs of Washington D.C. Mrs. Sanger returned to work as an administrative school secretary at Paint Branch High School in Colesville, Md. for a number of years. Settling in Annapolis in 1976, she then began to work for the Maryland Legislature until her retirement in 1989.
Mrs. Sanger and her husband were avid sailors and longtime members of the Annapolis Yacht Club. After her husband died in 1981, Mrs. Sanger moved to Heritage Harbour and remained active, golfing, serving as secretary to the community association, traveling to England, Scotland, the Netherlands, Belgium and the Caribbean. Mrs. Sanger was also a member of the Calvary United Methodist Church of Annapolis and the Young Annapolitans Club. In 2006, she moved to Ginger Cove where she continued to enjoy gardening, needlepoint, and trips to the Outer Banks of North Carolina.
Mrs. Sanger is survived by two daughters, Donna C. Sanger and her husband Guy of Arlington, Virginia, and Diane K. Larrimore and her husband J. Wayne of Crumpton, Maryland. She was the grandmother of Julia Sanger of Ellicott City, Zachary and J.T. Larrimore of Crumpton, Christopher Larrimore of Annapolis, and Max Robinson of Baltimore, and the great-grandmother of Christopher and Casey Bone. She was predeceased by her husband William Sanger, her parents Julius and Julia Kelder and her brother, Jack Kelder.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Ginger Cove 4000 River Crescent Drive Annapolis, MD 21401on January 27, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that any donations be made to the Maryland Animal Rescue, in Annapolis, Maryland.
