Paula Kay Davis' Obituary
Paula Kay Davis, age 66, passed away on December 11, 2022, at Anne Arundel Medical Center, at 7:07 am, with all three of her children by her side.
Paula is survived by her three children, Shelby, Crystal, and Caitlyn, 8 grandchildren, Elyjha, Nicholas, CJ, Jaelyn, Faith, Arabella, John, and Kingston, one sister, Sandy, two brothers, Billy and Duane, and a host of family and friends. She is preceded in death by her grandchild Brianna and her parents Pauline and William E. Moreland, now all in heaven.
Paula was born on January 12, 1956 in Annapolis, MD to parents Pauline and William E. Moreland. She graduated from Annapolis High School in 1975. Shortly after graduating, Paula married Jack W. Davis and the couple had three children together: Shelby, Crystal and Caitlyn.
During Paula's life, she was a loving mother who stayed at home and took care of her house. Paula kept our home spotless and you better not dare touch her walls! As her children grew older, Paula decided to venture out and start working. She worked with her sister Sandy and daughter Shelby at Pain Management Doctor in Annapolis, MD. The same way she was dedicated to her work, she was also dedicated to her grandchildren. She attended many games and sporting events.
Mimi, as her grandchildren would call her, always made sure she had time for them. If it wasn't a sleepover at her home in Lothian, it was a weekend getaway at the water park, Ocean City, or just McDonald's. At the sleepovers, the grandchildren always made sure to keep a smile on her face. Mimi would purchase tons of snacks for them, including whip cream, and somehow, by the end of the night, that would end up on Mimi's face. Although she never got mad at them, it was a memory she talked of often.
Paula was the most giving and caring person. As Paula's mother, Nanna as we all call her, started to feel ill, Paula took on the full responsibility of taking care of her. This just proved how much of a loving daughter she was.
Paula made sure everyone was doing well. She thought of everyone else before herself. Even in her last days, she always worried about her grandchildren. Paula never showed any pain.
Paula started to attend Weems Creek Baptist Church often after the passing of her granddaughter Bri, where she followed the Lord and found strength during her loss.
Paula believed in many signs of the afterlife. If you see a single penny, a butterfly, or a red cardinal, then you know she is giving you a sign that she is right there with you. Paula wanted to leave everyone with good memories. She would want everyone to celebrate her life and not mourn her death.
A Celebration of Life for Paula is scheduled for December 20, 2020 at Lasting Tributes, with a reception to follow that will be announced. All are welcome to attend Paula's Celebration of Life. The family would like to thank everyone for all the prayers, flowers, love, and support. Flowers and donations can be sent to her home: 508 Riverview Ct, Annapolis, MD 21401.
