Oscar R. Frisch's Obituary
Oscar R. Frisch, Jr., age 86, of Annapolis, Maryland, passed away peacefully at home on December 6, 2025, with his family at his side. He was born on June 11, 1939, in Amsterdam, New York, to Oscar R. Frisch, Sr. and Gertrude Ford Frisch.
Oscar is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Maureen Miskinis Frisch; his daughter, Wendy Frisch Yaniga (Chip) of Annapolis, Maryland; his brother, Paul Frisch, Sr., of Gloversville, New York; two nephews, Paul Frisch, Jr., of Broadalbin, New York, and Justin Frisch, of Perth, New York; and many cousins.
He was a graduate of Wilbur H. Lynch High School, Class of 1958. Oscar served in the U.S. Army from 1961 to 1963, followed by service in the Army Reserves from 1963 to 1967. His career began at the General Electric Company (GE) and continued as an electrician for the State of New York for 24 years before his retirement.
After retiring, Oscar enjoyed traveling with his wife and family, especially to Tennessee. He relocated from Amsterdam, New York, to Annapolis, Maryland, in 2021, where he experienced many new adventures with his family and his beloved granddog, Marley. Oscar was a life member and past Commander of American Legion Post 701; Forty and Eight Voiture; Polish American Veterans; and the Moose Lodge in Johnstown, New York.
A private service will be held at the Columbarium of St. Stanislaus Cemetery in Amsterdam, New York, at the convenience of his family.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church, 42 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam, New York 12010, or St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, 50 Cornell Street, Amsterdam, New York 12010.
