Nora Claire Scott's Obituary
Nora Clare (Aiken) Scott passed away peacefully surrounded by family and friends on Tuesday, August, 14th 2018 at Anne Arundel Medical Center in Annapolis. Nora was born in Sioux City, Iowa on May 6th 1957. She was preceded in death by both of her loving parents Lt. Col. Albert Shelton Aiken USAF and Patricia Lavonne (O’Brien) Aiken.
Nora spent a majority of her working life in human services working with people from all walks of life. She was passionate about the work she did with individuals with physical and mental disabilities as well as people suffering from addiction issues. She spent the last part of her career working as a Video Media Specialist at Anne Arundel Community College in the Library. In addition to that she was extremely active in the community organizing various things from food drives to putting together backpacks with school supplies for children in need. Most recently she was spending her spare time crocheting scarves to donate to charity.
Nora is survived by her brother Michael Aiken who had been taking amazing care of her during her final journey. As with most siblings they shared a special bond and often enjoyed sharing memories and spending time together.
Nora is also survived by her only daughter Catherine (Scott) Emerson, her son in law Christopher Emerson, and their three sons Jared, Gavin, and Silas. Nora was extremely proud of her family and would often brag at great lengths about them. She was so grateful for the opportunity to see her eldest grandson Jared graduate from high school. She truly cherished every moment she had with her daughter, son in law, and grandsons.
Nora will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
Services will be held at Lasting Tributes Cremation & Funeral Care at 814 Bestgate Road in Annapolis on Friday, August 31, 2018. Memorial gathering to begin at 2:00pm, with a Time of Shared Memories to follow at 3:00pm.
