Nora Lee Mahr
May 18,1940 - November 2, 2023
Nora Lee Mahr, age 83, from Arnold, Maryland passed away to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on November 2, 2023.
Born and raised in Laurel, Delaware by her parents, Hayward and Meredith Whaley. Nora Lee graduated from Laurel High School in 1958 where she enjoyed her scholastics, dances and playing varsity field hockey and basketball. On July 5, 1958, she married her best friend and rival high school sweetheart from Seafood Delaware, Carl Mahr. They were married 57 years when her husband passed away in 2015.
Carl and Nora Lee celebrated two children, Sandra “Alexandra” Mahr and Dean S. Mahr and their daughter in law Lynn M. Mahr. Nora Lee treasured the life and love of their three granddaughters, Meredith A. Mahr-Edmunds who passed away in 2017, Hope M. Latham and her husband Patrick V. Latham IV, Holly C. Mahr and her husband Michael D. Bittikofer.
Nora Lee was also blessed with great grandchildren McKenna Latham, Quinn Latham, Evelyn Latham and Malcolm Bittikofer.
Nora Lee enjoyed antiquing, decorating, cooking comfort foods, traveling and vacationing with family and friends, worshipping with her church communities, gardening and time with Mother Nature, especially the beach, boating and beach combing for seashells, celebrating family milestones, holidays, and special occasions with others.
Nora Lee was a devoted Christian and member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Annapolis, Maryland since 1973.
Services will be held Saturday, November 11, 2023 at 10:00 am at Trinity United Methodist Church located at 1300 West Street, Annapolis, Maryland 21401. Reverend Ray McDonald will officiate. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in remembrance to:
