Nathan Michael Westcoat's Obituary
In Memory of Nathan Michael Westcoat
We, his family, are shocked and deeply saddened by the sudden passing of Nathan Michael Westcoat this past week. We celebrate a handsome young man who was creative in so many aspects of his life, from his beautiful paintings to his many expertly done home improvements that encompassed his career.
He enjoyed time with his friends and family, loved and excelled in several sports in his younger years, and his sense of humor brought laughter to those around him. He loved deeply and and showed it in many ways: cooking his fancy dinners, remembering birthdays and special occasions with gifts, cards, and flowers, and lots of hugs. He enjoyed listening to music (a big Pink Floyd fan), especially when working on projects or just to clear his head.
The last few years of his life were difficult, as Nathan's health deteriorated and his zest for life diminished.
Sadly, Nathan’s life had more than its fair share of physical challenges and mental struggles, some of which he was able to overcome, and unfortunately some that overwhelmed him.
It is widely believed that God plans our lives ahead of time—the day we are born and the day we will die. We may not understand His timing when we lose the people we love, but we have to accept it. For those of us who knew and loved Nathan, he will never be forgotten, and we will hold him in our hearts forever.
Nate, there is nothing to hold you down anymore, so spread your wings and fly.
Isaiah 43:1-2: "Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze."
