Nancy Norris' Obituary
On Wednesday, April 24, 2013, Nancy S. Norris passed away in her home surrounded by loved ones.
Nancy was born in Baltimore, MD on February 9, 1929. She attended Washington College in Chestertown, MD. She worked as a rate analyst for Verizon Communications for many years, retiring in 1984. During her retirement years, she worked in the office of Tom Thumb Day Nursery in Bowie, MD.
Nancy was a true animal lover and rescuer, enjoyed traveling, reading mystery novels and dining out with family and friends. She was a wonderful cook and could often be found in her kitchen “whipping up something scrumptious.” She was also a phenomenal baker and was affectionately known to many as “The Cake Lady.”
Nancy is survived by her daughter, Linda Deringer, and her granddaughter, Jennifer Tisdale, both of Crofton, MD.
A memorial service and celebration of her life will be held at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church, 1110 St. Stephen’s Church Road, Crownsville, MD on Saturday, May 11, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. The family will greet friends directly following the service at Nancy’s home.
