Nancy Chiyoko Tsuyuki Jerome's Obituary
Nancy Chiyoko Tsuyuki Jerome (64) passed away from a stroke on November 22, 2025, at Gilchrist Hospice Center.
Nancy was born on January 7, 1961, in Brooklyn, New York, to Lawrence Nobuhiko Tsuyuki and Joanna Stringham Tsuyuki. She was the oldest sister of Charlotte and James. She attended Scarsdale High School and went on to attain a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music Theory/Composition from Goucher College. She later earned her Master's in Music Education from the Peabody Conservatory at Johns Hopkins University. She married the love of her life, Jeffrey Jerome, on February 29th, 1992.
Nancy's love for music touched every aspect of her life. Before she retired in 2013, she was an Elementary School music teacher in Anne Arundel County. She taught many students to love music and how to find their voice. In her free time, she was an active member of Christ Our Anchor Presbyterian Church. She directed the Children's Choir, led the Christmas Pageant, and was involved in the Music and Art Camp, as well as the choir and bell choir. In her retirement, she continued singing in the choir, ringing the bells, and volunteering at her local hospital's Stroke Club. She loved spending time with her boys and enjoying delicious meals that her husband made.
She is survived by her husband, Jeffrey, of 33 years, and her two sons, Brandon and Michael. Her parents, Joanna and Lawrence, and her siblings with their significant others, James & Sharon, Charlotte & Karl. And through all her students and everyone who cherished her deeply.
Nancy will be remembered for her love of music, quick wit, kind heart, and love for her family. Her voice and kindness were gifts to everyone who knew her.
Family and friends are welcome to join us in celebrating her life on Saturday, January 10th, at 1 pm. The service will be held at Christ Our Anchor Presbyterian Church and will be live-streamed on their Facebook.
Flowers will be accepted, or memorial contributions may be made to the Arts Council of Anne Arundel County https://www.acaac.org.
