Nancy Lee Isaac's Obituary
Nancy Lee Isaac, nee Altman, passed away on March 17, 2026 after a difficult battle with dementia, survived by her beloved son and daughter-in-law, Barry Francis Isaac and Vasoula Panayi Isaac, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Nancy was born to Viola (Bobbi) and Frank Altman on December 20, 1937 in Baltimore, MD. She graduated from Western High School as an honor student in l956 and attended Lutheran Hospital School of Nursing in Baltimore, MD. She married Harry at the age of l9 and they were married for 67 years. She and Harry lived in Howard County before moving to Anne Arundel County to their beloved waterfront home, known as “LIL BIT O HEAVEN.” They also maintained a summer residence in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware for over 40 years.
Before her retirement in 2008, Nancy was employed at HCGH in Columbia MD for 37 years. She began her career there as a secretary/ certified medical transcriptionist and was later promoted to supervisor of medical transcription . She was well known by the medical staff at HCGH for the high quality transcription skills and standards she practiced. She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and the American Association for Medical Transcription. Her hobbies included boating, crabbing, collecting Barbie dolls, Beanie babies and Beanie buddies.
She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, and there became closest with Pastor Father Marc Lanoue.
Anyone fortunate enough to have received a greeting card from Nancy was aware that every card was individually selected with love, was unique and was individually chosen for the recipient with love and affection. The envelopes were adorned with various stickers, each corresponding with individual hobbies or to celebrate an occasion.
Nancy was a sentimental and loyal friend who loved to make people laugh. She had the ability to say what she felt and yet, was painfully shy in social situations.
Nancy was a great listener, a great teacher and a great friend. Her goal in life was to make at least one person laugh each day in response to her “crazy true life stories” and her humor.
A full Funeral mass was performed for Nancy at St Anne’s Catholic Church in Rock Hill SC by Father Kevin. A small gathering of friends and family will be held at her home in Annapolis.
