Nancie Ann Moebius' Obituary
Nancie Ann Moebius, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on November 29, 2025. She was 72 years old.
Nancie Ann is survived by her loving husband of 39 years and best friend, Hardy Moebius with whom she shared many of life’s pleasures through family, friends, travel, and boating. She is also survived by her twin daughters, Janine Moebius with grandsons Jacob and Lucas, Angela Flores (Bryan), and by son Bryan Moebius (Cindy) and daughter, Lori Acker with grandsons Tyler Acker and Nicholas Acker, and granddaughter Gabriella Acker. Nancie Ann is also survived by her sisters Kathleen Loftus and Regina Devenport (John). Predeceasing her are her sisters Dolores (Larry) and brother Lawrence.
Born on January 26, 1953, in Philadelphia, Nancie Ann was a 1971 graduate of The Philadelphia High School for Girls, a 1975 graduate of Chestnut Hill College with a degree in theoretical math and a 1981 graduate of Drexel University with a master’s degree in finance. She joined Bell of Pennsylvania in 1975 as a management trainee and rose to higher level positions in engineering, finance, treasury, marketing, and product management. She retired in 2003 from Verizon Communications at age 50.
Nancie Ann then became an adjunct professor at Anne Arundel Community College teaching her favorite subject- math. She continued a 20+ year career doing something she really loved- teaching. She further extended her passion for teaching and helping others by becoming the local math tutor for kids in her neighborhood. Nancie Ann also volunteered to be on the school boards of Aleph Bet Jewish Day School, followed by Chesapeake Academy, and lastly followed by St. John the Evangelist School.
Nancie Ann loved ocean and river cruising with her husband Hardy and visited 51 countries across 4 continents. Along the way, she and Hardy met numerous cruise buddies from across the states and maintained contact through a joint love of cruising. At home, she enjoyed cruising on the Severn River and loved seeing her family enjoy water sports.
Nancie Ann’s unique personality was such that everyone she met had a special place in her heart and she had the rare gift of making others feel seen and loved. Nancie Ann was a popular Professor, often sought out for her classes at the Community College where she was known for her compassion, fun teaching techniques, and being well versed in different areas of mathematics. Nancie Ann was truly the life of the party and shared her passion for communion and friendship by hosting and entertaining at her home. She was a genuinely kind and loving individual, and everyone she interacted with came away with a true feeling of kindness and love towards her. Nancie Ann consistently complimented people with true compassion, making strangers friends in a matter of minutes.
Nancie Ann shared intense pride and love of her family with many people. She loved to share the accomplishments of her family with friends. Her legacy lives on in her family she so dearly cherished, and the many lives she touched with her grace and generosity.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on December 17, 2025, at 12:30 pm at St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, 689 Ritchie Hwy, Severna Park, MD 21146. Following at 2:00 pm, a Celebration of Life will be held at Lasting Tributes Cremation and Funeral Care, 814 Bestgate Rd., Annapolis, Md 21401.
