Myrtle Ringenbach's Obituary
Myrtle was born at Walter Reed General Hospital in Washington, D.C. on July 10, 1927. Her parents were Myrtle Miller and Frank Lanckton. In 1950 she married Richard Montgomery who passed in 1995. Myrtle graduated from The George Washington University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1951. She and “Dick” had one daughter, Sharon, who is married to Mark Watson.
Myrtle joined St. Paul’s Anglican Church in 2001 where she met Maurice Ringenbach. They were married in the chapel in 2003. Myrtle loved to read, figure puzzles, quilt, make all kinds of crafts, bake brownies, and write poems. She acquired quite a few hats over the years and always wore one to church.
She is survived by husband “Moe”, daughter Sharon and her husband Mark, two granddaughters, Kali and Caycee, and all of the Ringenbachs.
A service will be held at St. Paul’s Anglican Church in Crownsville, Maryland on Saturday, 4 March, at 2:30pm. The service will be followed by her internment in the Garden Columbarium and a reception celebrating her life in the church hall.
Myrtle requests that attendees not wear black and wear a hat of their own or one of hers in her honor. Many of her hats will be available in the church prior to the service. Anyone who wears one of Myrtle’s hats may take it home when they leave.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Myrtle’s favorite charities: Shriners Hospitals for Children, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, the United Service Organization, or the Wounded Warrior Project.
