Morton Scott Cozad's Obituary
Morton Scott Cozad, 79, of Arnold, unexpectedly passed away on January 17, 2022 after a brief illness. The family is deeply saddened by his sudden death. Mort was born on April 15, 1942 to Sam and Margaret Cozad in Suffolk, VA. After graduating from Allegany High School in 1961, he went on to computer technical school. After graduation, he landed his first job at the National Security Agency, kicking off a 38 year civil service career. Which afforded him and his family the opportunity to live in England and Scotland.
In 1968, he met Claudette Lee Ward, and they wed in 1969, going on to have 2 children, Scott Claude Cozad and Clair Catherine Cozad. After retiring, Mort spent his time working on computers, helping at church and assisting Claudette with gardening.
Mort is survived by Claudette Cozad (wife), Scott and Aisha Cozad and Clair Cozad (children) and Ethan, Anne and Emily Sumner and Brandon Grabher-Meyer (grandchildren) and Janet Marburg (sister). He was predeceased by Richard Roberts (brother).
Anyone who knew Mort was touched by his kindness, humor, and mild temperament. He was truly a peacemaker and was always a source of positivity and a good laugh.

Services will be held on Saturday, February 19, 2022 at Calvary United Methodist Church, 301 Rowe Blvd. Annapolis, MD 21401. The service will begin at 11:00 followed by a reception at the church.
