Mickey Schaffner's Obituary
Mickey Schaffner passed away peacefully in her home on March 1, 2022 with her loving family by her side, after a long and hard-fought battle with Alzheimer’s disease. She was a faithful and loving servant of God, serving His community at Saint Mary’s Parish for 33 years. She lived in downtown Annapolis for 49 years, where she loved being able to walk to work, and could often be found walking the grounds of the Naval Academy. She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Bill, her daughters Elizabeth (FD), and Sarah (NFD), her two grandchildren Avery and Lucy, and many friends and family who will miss her dearly.
A memorial mass will be held for Mickey on Tuesday, March 15, 2022 at 10:30 am at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 620 N. Bestgate Road, Annapolis, MD 21401. For those who are unable to attend, services will be livestreamed on the St. Mary's Parish website. Family and friends are invited to join for food and fellowship concluding mass at the St. Mary's Team House located on the St. John Neumann property.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Mickey's name may be made to the Alzheimer's Association (alz.org/donate) or to Hospice of the Chesapeake (90B Ritchie Hwy. Pasadena, MD 21122)
