Michelle Rene Harris' Obituary
Michelle Rene Harris was born in Anchorage, Alaska on January 20, 1967, to Raymond Harris, Jr., and the late Susan Walker Webb Harris. She was known as Michelle by her proud Scottish family; but, was affectionately known to most as Rene’. She spent the bulk of her formative years stationed in RAF Chicksands, England, near to her mother’s family living in Edinburgh, Scotland, and Luton, England. In 1979, she and her family moved to Fort George G. Meade, Maryland. And soon after they were off to her father’s hometown of Wake Forest, North Carolina where she met her large southern family. the likes of which she had never experienced before.
In 1985 Rene’ graduated from Broadneck High School where she was an above average student, taking college level courses, and participating in sports year-round. She went to Anne Arundel Community College where she continued to play sports and do well in school, and graduated with an Associate’s Degree in Communications 1987. Later that year joined the United States Air Force when she enjoyed and devoted her life to a 19-year career before succumbing to challenges of Multiple Sclerosis.
Rene’ was fiercely proud of her service to the USAF but nothing made her prouder than her two children Rachael Rene’ and Kendrew. Although Multiple Sclerosis swept into her life and drastically changed it forever, she was blessed to see her children graduate high school and college, and later to see her daughter go on to follow in her footsteps when she joined the USAF in 2017. Rene’ was a devoted mother, intelligent, kind, and a faithful friend; and it was known to all that her children were her the light of her life, her pride and joy, and the reason that her heartbeat.
Friday, February 21, 2023, the Lord called her home where she could be free from the pain and suffering of Multiple Sclerosis which she battled for some twenty years. Rene’ is survived by two children, Rachael and Kendrew Harris, her father, Raymond Harris, Jr.; two sisters, Lynne and Rae Anne Harris; 3 aunts, 2 uncles, two nieces, one great-niece, two great-nephews, and a whole host of cherished cousins and friends in both the United States and the United Kingdom.
