Michael Lesley Wright's Obituary
Iron Mike, a loving husband, father, war veteran, fire fighter, biker, power lifter and man of God, passed away early on August 19th, 2020. He is survived by his wife Alecia Wright and his two sons, Jason and Joshua Wright.
Michael was a Navy Corpsman that served with the First Marine Division, to later be honorably discharged after being wounded in combat. After obtaining an associates degree in law enforcement he then began his 26 year long career as a firefighter instead (because he scored high enough on the test), ultimately to retire as a Batallion Chief, Fifth Batallion in 2003. Michael was also the head powerlifting coach at the Naval Academy starting in 1995, his team taking gold medals in most of their divisions. Through his many lines of work, Mike survived more near death experiences and saved more lives than most can imagine.
Michael was better known as Iron Mike with his reputation within the motorcycle community and was a well traveled Harley rider.
This great man will always be missed by many and the legend of Iron Mike will live on.
The Wright Family has graciously asked that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in Mike's name to the "Colea Benevolent Fund". The fund is used to support our fire/ems service members and their immediate family who have experienced financial hardship due to illness, injury or death.
