Michael and Mikey Hein's Obituary
J. Michael Hein, Sr. and his son, Mikey died suddenly due to an automobile accident on January 7, 2011. Michael Hein was 51 and his son, Mikey was 6.
J. Michael Hein, Sr. was born on June 16, 1959 in West Virginia to Shirley Kirk Hein of Bowie, MD and the late, Benjamin Dave Hein. Michael graduated from Parkdale High School, Class of 1977. Growing up in Greenbelt, MD, Michael’s people skills help develop him into a successful salesman; working in a variety of industries. On October 6, 2002, he married Tara Barringer and they made their home on Kent Island. Michael enjoyed fishing, hunting and being on the waters of the Chesapeake Bay. He will be remembered as a loving father who enjoyed being with his family, the family chef for holiday and birthday celebrations and watching his son, Mikey develop into an accomplished wrestler.
J. “Mikey” Hein, Jr. was born on August 13, 2004 in Silver Spring, MD to Tara Barringer Hein and the late, J. Michael Hein, Sr. Mikey attended Matapeake Elementary where he was in Ms. Mason’s first grade classroom. Mikey was an avid wrestler; wrestling on the Chesapeake Bay Wrestling Team. He enjoyed being with his sisters and family, fishing with his father and, just this season, his first hunting trip with his dad. Mikey will always be remembered for being a wiz in math, for his big smile and always loving personality.
They are survived by their wife/mother Tara Barringer Hein Stevensville, MD; daughters/sisters, Shera Hill of Martinsburg, WV, Shannon Hein of Laurel, MD, Stephanie Barringer of Wheaton, MD, Sara Hein and Shianne Hein of Stevensville, MD; mother/paternal grandmother, Shirley Hein of Bowie, MD ; mother-in-law/maternal grandmother, Julie Barringer of Wheaton, MD ; sisters/aunts, Sherri Nash of Bowie, MD and Elaine Lambert of Texas; brother-in-law/uncle, Trevor Barringer of Hunt Valley, MD; grandchildren/cousins Jackson and Ava Hill of Martinsburg, WV; uncle/great uncle Nancy and Elmo Kirk of Cleveland, OH.
A memorial service will be held at Lasting Tributes -Fellows, Helfenbein & Newnam Cremation & Funeral Care, P.A., 814 Bestgate Rd., Annapolis, MD on Saturday, January 15, 2011 at 2PM. Family and friends may gather at the funeral home on Friday, January 14, 2011 between the hours of 4PM and 7PM.
