Meredith Alyssa Mahr-Edmunds' Obituary
Meredith Alyssa, age 29 from Annapolis, Maryland left God’s green earth to join Him in heaven July 29, 2017.
Meredith Alyssa graduated from Broadneck High School in 2006 with honors and advanced placement credits before she attended Mount St. Mary’s University for her Bachelors Degree. Meredith graduated “The Mount” a semester early with a Bachelor’s of Science with a double major in Psychology and French Language and Culture in 2010. Meredith then embarked on her pursuit of a Master’s Degree at Loyola University Maryland and graduated with a Master’s of Science in Clinical Psychology Thesis track only to continue on to acquire a Certificate of Advanced Study in Counseling Psychology. Meredith was dedicated and enjoyed her quest of learning and education. She began to apply her education by working as a Graduate Assistant in the Office of Institutional Research at Loyola. To follow she was a Research Extern at the University of Maryland, Baltimore School of Medicine Division of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. Next became her opportunity to excel as an ABA therapist at Endless Options. She continued on as a Lead Behavioral and Bridge Therapist at the Shafer Center. While completing her Certificate of Advanced Study she was a Counseling Psychology Intern at Anne Arundel County Public Schools. When that was complete she became the Counseling Psychology Extern for the Clinical Services Department for Good Shepherd Services. As she continued to grow and develop professionally she claimed an opportunity to be an ABA Technician at Verbal Beginnings. Meredith was currently a psychotherapist at Anne Arundel Counseling Services and the Sheppard Pratt Hannah Moore School Program at Severn River Middle School. Meredith acquired her full license to practice as a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in March 2017. A very proud and deserving day for her perseverance. Meredith was always working at least two jobs simultaneously and still found the time to babysit neighborhood and friends’ children, walk dogs and pet sit.
Meredith loved life and was a “Magnificent Joy” to all she encountered. She had a gift of creativity and artistry and shared her talents generously with a loving spirit and exquisite heart. Meredith loved photography and was masterful in her ability to capture beauty in the world. Her tremendous love for family, friends, little guys and their families and her precious cocker spaniels Biscuit, Shadow and Lucky was endless and a compassionate source of enrichment to everyone and everything she touched. Meredith fell in love with “her little guys” every day. Her greatest pastime was spending time with YOU. Quality time with others was her signature love language and she could never get enough. Meredith’s pure love for you is “always and forever…no matter what.” Her gentle kind-hearted spirit was exquisitely brilliant and the world will never be the same without her beauty, grace, and light.
