Melissa Lee Cox, of Harwood, Maryland, passed away on June 15, 2021 after a valiant battle with cancer. She died peacefully under the watchful care of the good people at Anne Arundel Hospital Center. She was preceded in death by h Read Obituary
Melissa was an amazing crafter and all-around super-capable person. She brought so much energy, enthusiasm, and cheer to our knitting guild in Prince William County. I will miss swapping dog stories and discussing fountain pens with her as well. Ave atque vale, Melissa.
I met Melissa through our knitting guild, The Prince William Purlers, many years ago. Melissa made all that lace knitting and socks look so easy, she tried her best to inspire me but I sometimes got tangled up in the yarn. I left the guild but we managed to stay in touch on facebook. I will miss her deeply. My thoughts are with her family and all the folks whose lives she touched. Elaine Stuckey
Like many others here I met Melissa through the Tamson House mailing list over twenty years ago. During that time she has been a true and supportive friend who helped me through many troubling times, always with compassion, generosity, and a hopeful spirit. Melissa was a bright light in a dim world and she will be desperately missed.
Melissa, our shared road trips and your trips to visit me are among my my treasured memories. Rest in light, my sister. I'll love you forever.
I knew Melissa for many years, as a much-loved member of the email community known as Tamson House, and the many chats we would have on instant messenger. I only met her once, when my wife and I were visiting the States and stayed at her place for a night, and she was just as delightful in person as she was online. I will miss her greatly.

Melissa, thank you for travelling up to Ottawa years ago to meet us at Patty's Pub and have an adventure with our Tamson House group. I've long admired your creativity and compassion. You happened to pass away on the same day as our beloved Johnny dog. I know you're a dog lover and I hope you've met because you both had radiant smiles that could light up a room. May the other side be everything you could hope for, filled with joy and inspiration. You will be missed.
