Maureen Ann Phipps' Obituary
Maureen Ann (Ferrara) Phipps, 71, of Annapolis MD, passed away peacefully at Complete Care at Severna Park on August 7, 2024.
Maureen was born on November 23, 1952 to Charles Ferrara and Mary (Gibbons) Ferrara in Catonsville MD as the fourth child born of seven. Maureen graduated from ArchBishop Keough High School in 1971. Maureen had a long career of 30 years at Anne Arundel County Office of Personnel as a Financial Assistant.
In 2005, Maureen met David Leroy Phipps at Bay Cafe in Baltimore MD, they were married on June 30, 2006 in Annapolis MD. Maureen and David cherished their time with family, often hosting large, welcoming gatherings where everyone was embraced.
In 2018, Maureen retired and filled her days with reading, gardening, and cooking, where she was well known by all for her exceptional culinary skills. A passionate traveler, she especially loved visiting Skyline Drive, VA in the fall and Ocean City, MD during the summer. Maureen was also a devoted parishioner of Saint John the Evangelist in Severna Park MD.
Maureen was predeceased by her parents, Charles Ferrara and Mary (Gibbons) Ferrara. She is survived by her husband of 18 years, David Leroy Phipps; sons: David Ferrara and Max Palmer; 5 grandchildren; her sisters: Christine Purkey, Bernadette Serie, Rebecca Quinn, Carmel Kamsch; brothers: Francis Ferrara and Stephen Ferrara; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at Lasting Tributes Funeral Care, 814 Bestgate Road, Annapolis, MD 21401 on August 20 from 2:00pm-4:00pm and 6:00pm-8:00pm. A funeral mass will be held at St. John's the Evangelist, 689 Ritchie Hwy, Severna Park, MD 21146 on August 21, 2024 at 11:00 am. Burial will immediately follow at Bestgate Memorial Park in Annapolis.
