Mary Jeanette Hannon's Obituary
Mary “Nana” Jeanette Hannon of Annapolis, MD passed away on May 1, 2014. She was 81.
Mary was born in Dorchester, Mass. on September 15, 1932 to the late Michael A. and Sarah Ann (MacIssac) MacKinnon. She attended Boston College where she met Vincent Hannon, Jr.. They were later married on November 7, 1953 and resided in Lynnfield, Mass. After moving a few times along the East Coast, they made their home in Silver Spring Maryland in 1963. There she became an active member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. In the mid 1990’s she moved to Kent Island where she became a member of St. Christopher’s Catholic Church. After her husbands passing in 1997, she moved to Annapolis to be closer to family where she attended St. Andrews By the Bay Catholic Church.
Mary was active in the Old Timers Bowling League in Severna Park, Secular Order of Saint Frances where she prepared lunches at the Lighthouse Shelter, Prayer Shaw Ministry, and St. Christopher’s Charismatic Prayer Group. She enjoyed bowling and playing Texas Holdem. Her greatest enjoyment was being with her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and extended family.
Mary is survived by seven children; Vincent Hannon III, Lillian M. Conrad, Stephen A. Hannon, M. Theresa Clark, Edward M. Hannon, Margery C. Rutten and Paul F. Hannon; seventeen grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at St. Andrews by the Bay Catholic Church 701 College Pkwy, Annapolis, MD on Tuesday, May 6th at 11 AM. A visitation will be held at Lasting Tributes Cremation & Funeral Care 814 Bestgate Rd. Annapolis, MD on Monday, May 5th between the hours of 3 to 5 and 7 to 9. Burial will be at Stevensville Cemetery, Stevensville, MD.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice of Queen Anne’s 255 Comet Dr. Centreville, MD 21617 and/or Lighthouse Shelter 10 Hudson St, Annapolis, MD 21401
