Mary Covert's Obituary
Mary Ellen Covert was a private, strong-willed and loving woman. She was very much dedicated to her husband, children, family and even her dogs “Pup-Pup” and “Prince” whom she loved dearly. She was also a devoted caregiver to her sons, mother and husband during their times of illness.
Mary enjoyed strolling downtown at the city dock, walking her dogs, listening and admiring the city’s entertainment, as well as traveling with her husband periodically.
She was very fashionable and never wore nor owned a pair of sneakers. “Baby sis”, as she was affectionately called, loved her Juicy Fruit gum. In fact, she would always share a piece with her dogs. Those dogs meant the world to her and she treated them as though they were a part of her family. Many can remember her throwing birthday parties in her backyard for her dog’s. She was adamant about everyone putting on party hats, singing happy birthday to them, as well as helping to blow out their candles. She would then pull out her Polaroid camera to capture the moment.
Mary always had a pleasant sense of humor and she would always give unsolicited advice with an affectionate smile. She will always be remembered for her uniqueness and welcoming nature and by her love of her favorite color fuchsia.
