Marilyn L. McKelvey's Obituary
Marilyn McKelvey, 77, died June 1, 2012 at Sunrise Assisted Living Center.
Marilyn McKelvey was born on March 23, 1935 in Salem, Ohio to the late A. Robert Anderson and Leah G. McCurn Anderson. She attended McKinley High School in her hometown of Niles, OH, graduated class of 1953. She then began taking classes at Mount Union College until 1956 when she returned home to work. Mrs. McKelvey worked at the local high school as their lunch lady, a sales clerk at Montgomery Wards, and on the assembly line at the G.E. Plant in Ohio. It was her position as a bank teller when she met Donald McKelvey. They were later married on December 14, 1957. They resided in Niles, OH until his graduation from college. Due to her husband’s career, they moved to a number of locations until 1993 when they moved to Easton MD.
Mrs. McKelvey enjoyed bingo, camping and traveling with her family. She was a member of the B.P.O. Easton Elks Lodge #1622 Ladies Auxiliary.
Mrs. McKelvey is survived by two sons, Mark McKelvey of Cumming, GA; Pete McKelvey of Crownsville, MD; one daughter Vickie McKnew of Crownsville, MD ; brother David Anderson of Florida; five grandchildren, Nick McKelvey, Cody McKelvey, Kyle McKelvey, Megan McKnew and Whitney McKnew. She was preceded in death by her brother Bob Anderson of Columbus, OH; sister Gert Hitching of Niles, OH.
A Remembrance Tribute will be held at Lasting Tributes Cremation & Funeral Care, 814 Bestgate Road, Annapolis, MD 21401 on Monday June 4, 2012 between 6 -8 PM.
