Marie Ann Tasker's Obituary
Marie Ann (Singleton) Tasker, resident of Annapolis, MD (Harbor House) for over twenty-eight years, departed this earthly life, peacefully in her sleep, at the Heritage Harbor Rehabilitation Center, Annapolis, MD after being diagnosed with cancer.
Marie was born on Hampton Farms in Towson, MD to the late Charles Clayton and the late Denton Virginia McCreary Singleton. Her grandparents are the late George Washington and the late Sarah Elizabeth Singleton. Preceding her in death were brothers James Junior and Philip Clayton Singleton, sister Geneva Viola Singleton and niece Roseann.
Marie spent her childhood and early adulthood in Baltimore County and later transitioned to Anne Arundel County, MD.
Marie loved music and yes loved to dance. The nurses at Heritage Harbor said the day before she transitioned she was out of bed laughing, singing, and dancing in the hallways. She had such a great spirit and she never once complained. All she said was she wanted to go home.
Marie was a loving, caring and trusting person and would help anyone at anytime which she did so often. But had a swift tongue if need be. Many will remember when she worked at Mr. Donuts on West Street, now known as Dunkin Donuts. This is where she met her best friend, Chesterfield Sharps. She fondly called him Ches and was at his side everyday until his passing.
Marie leaves to cherish her memories, one brother, Charles Burton and wife Virginia Wohlford Singleton of Harford County, MD; one sister, Emma Frances and husband Gregory Alan Gray of Florida; Singleton nieces and nephews, Laura Lee, Charlotte Lynn, James, Walter, Rose Marie, Eleanor, Virginia Anna, Charles Clayton, Thomas, Samuel, Judith Ann and Timothy Clayton; great niece and great nephew, Christina and Gregory Alan, Jr.
Also, devoted caregiver Norman Sharps, and wife Joan Smith-Sharps; a very devoted friend, Frank Wilson; Ella Meade and the Sharps family; and lastly Joseph (Joey) Sharps whom she loved dearly and treated as her own son.
