Marie Louise Leber's Obituary
Marie Louise Leber of Shady Side, MD died on March 21, 2011 at her home with her family at her side due to a brief illness of acute myeloid leukemia.
She was born on August 9, 1930 in Lynn, Mass. to the late Edward Northrop and Martha Boynton Northrop. She attended Lynn High School; graduating class of 1948. In 1972, she married John L. Leber, USMC (ret) in Las Vegas, NV.
Mrs. Leber worked as a civilian employee of the Department of the Army from 1972 to 2003. In addition, she worked with the Washington Navy Yard Armed Forces Police Department, Cameron Station, Virginia Civilian Police Department and the Military District Washington DC Fort McNair Commanding General Support Staff Group.
During her career as a civilian employee, she was awarded numerous performance certificates from the Department of Army. Upon retirement, she was awarded the Department of Army Superior Civilian Service Medal and the Department of the Army “Dr. Mary E. Walker Medal”. She was a proud member of the National Rifle Association.
Mrs. Leber enjoyed being with her family and her pug “Louie”.
In addition to her husband, John L. Leber, USMC (ret), she is survived by one daughter, Paula Dulin of Denver, N.C., one son, David Hunt of Baltimore, MD. She is predeceased by one son, James Hunt.
A private graveside ceremony will take place at Crownsville Veterans Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice of the Chesapeake 445 Defense Hwy.
