I read the obituary in the Capital and loved how it was written. I understand, John, that you wrote it. It was playful, loving and done with humor -- all the traits that I remember Sandy for.
I cannot tell you how much I will miss her lovely smile. It just lit up a room. Not to mention her warm heart and infectious laugh. To be around Sandy was just to feel comfortable, loved and happy.
Whenever I think of Sandy, what I will remember most is that I never saw her unhappy. Though I'm sure, like all of us, there were her down moments, nevertheless she had a cheerful attitude that she always exhibited. Despite the struggles of the past few years with Bill, and her own health, she always had a smile and a hug and a warm word to share with those of us who were blessed enough to have known her.
And I do mean blessed. I feel very fortunate to have known her, and happy to have had time to spend with her at church events. I always left her presence feeling very positive -- to me, that will be her legacy. Whenever I remember her, I will simply feel happy.
