Marcel "Joe" Henry's Obituary
Marcel Augustine (Joe) Henry, age 93 died peacefully at home surrounded by family on Thursday, January 12, 2023.
Joe is survived by his wife Marcia, of 65 years. Joe loved his family more than anything. He married Marcia in Kingston, Jamaica in 1962 and the couple had four children together: Sean Henry, Irvine, CA, Jeff Henry, Las Vegas, NV, Jody Henry, Davidson, NC and Jason Henry, Crofton, MD. Joe also has three sons from a previous marriage, Homer Henry, Annapolis, MD, Donald Henry, Crofton, MD, and Bruce Henry, Ft. Lauderdale, FL. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
Joe was born on December 29, 1929 in Spanish Town, Jamaica, West Indies to parents Lester and Lucille Henry. As a child he attended Beckford and Smith and graduated from St. Georges College in Kingston, Jamaica. Joe was also very athletic playing Cricket and Soccer for Jamaica. He was President of Kiwanis Club of Annapolis and a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church of Crofton, MD.
Joe travelled the world for over 19 years working for the Shell Oil Company. In 1976, Joe, Marcia and four boys relocated from Kingston, Jamaica to Lebanon, Missouri. Relocating again to Crofton, MD in 1982 where Joe was the CEO and President at United Propane in Millersville for over 22 years.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 18, 2023 from 6:30-8 pm at Lasting Tributes, 814 Bestgate Road, Annapolis, MD 21401. A funeral mass will take place on Thursday, January 19 at Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 1800 Seton Dr, Crofton, MD 21114 at 10:00 am. Burial will follow at Bestgate Memorial Park in Annapolis.
