Louis Richard Woods, Jr.'s Obituary
Louis Richard Woods Jr., age 77, of Glen Burnie, MD passed away on September 23rd at his home, surrounded by family after his most recent bout with cancer. His lifetime record stands tall at 4-1 vs. the disease.
He was born on November 21, 1943, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and attended North Catholic High school. After graduating, he enlisted in the Air Force and attained the rank of Sergeant before leaving for civilian employment at NASA, followed by over two decades in real estate until he finally realized his true calling as a chef, but more importantly, a teaching chef.
Lou is survived by his wife of 55 years, Susan Mary Woods (née Bayer). In addition to his wife, Lou is survived by his children, daughter Melissa Woods Jones, son Ryan and wife Jessica, son Patrick and wife Jennifer, and his grandchildren, Ava, Bailey, Evan and Max.
He is also survived by his mother, Rose Woods, as well as six brothers and sisters: Betty, Frank, Larry, Lenny, Maryanne and Terri.
A Mass of Christian Burial is planned at Christ the King Catholic Church, 7436 B&A Blvd., Glen Burnie, MD 21061, on Thursday, October 7th at 11:00am with an Irish wake to immediately follow. A private interment is planned for the next day at Crownsville Veterans Cemetery.
