Louis William Parker, Jr.
Louis William Parker, Jr. died at home on Thursday, December 29, 2011. He was 65.
Mr. Parker was born on September 4, 1946 in Baltimore, MD to Isabel (Gensler) Parker and the late Louis William Parker, Sr both of Baltimore, MD. He attended Overlea Senior High School, graduating class of 1964. He then continued his education, receiving a degree in Business Management from University of Baltimore in 1968. Mr. Parker began a career in finance working at Westinghouse immediately after graduating college. He later retired from Anne Arundel County Central Services Department in 2004.
Mr. Parker raised his family in Millersville, MD. Upon retirement, he moved to The Villages, Florida where he made his home for the last 5 years.
Mr. Parker enjoyed spending time at The Cane Garden Country Club in Florida and the Annapolis Mall where he frequented the coffee bar at Nordstrom’s. He was a Mason, member of the Church Council at U.E.C. Baltimore, MD and later became a member of the Severna Park United Methodist Church. He will be remembered for his love of family, joy of history and classic cars, and love of all people in general.
In addition to his mother, Isabel Parker, he is survived by daughters, Julie Magorka and husband Jeremy of Crofton, MD, and Jacqueline Parker of Crofton, MD; sister, Nancy Gray and husband Jim of Annapolis, MD; brother, Norman Parker and wife Lauren of Madison, VA; and three grandchildren, Andrew Hopkins, Thomas Magorka and Michael Magorka.
A visitation will be held on Monday, January 2, 2012 between 2 – 4 PM and 6 – 8 PM at Lasting Tributes Cremation and Funeral Care, P.A. 814 Bestgate Rd. Annapolis, MD. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 3, 2012 at the funeral home. Burial will immediately follow at Dulaney Valley Memorial Gardens, Timonium, MD.
