Lola Feene Jackson's Obituary
Lola Feene Jackson of Annapolis Maryland departed this life on July 13th, 2024 peacefully at home surrounded by family. She was 87 years of age. Lola affectionately known by family as “Mom” was born on September 30th, 1936 in Calvert County, Maryland to the late Henry and Mazie Holland. Lola grew up in Anne Arundel County, Maryland and attended Anne Arundel County Public Schools. Lola enjoyed her early life and often spoke with fond memories of her youthful summer visits to “Big Mama’s” house in the Plum point area of Calvert County.
As a young adult, Lola met and fell in love with Robert O. Jackson. The two would soon marry and raise five children together. The family lived for a time in Davidsonville, Maryland before moving to Annapolis.
Lola’s early years were spent running the household and rearing her children. Once all the children were well into school age, Lola took on various domestic jobs outside of the home. Lola’s work ethic was well known, and she was in high demand. She maintained one client for well over 3 decades!
Lola enjoyed gardening and had a green thumb of epic proportions! Mom “Never met a plant or flower she didn’t like!” Mom enjoyed family gatherings, particularly Sunday dinners with her family. For Mom, watching the daily news was a must! She also was a lover of sports. She enjoyed watching the “Birds” and “Ravens” and was a big fan of the RFDTV channel.
Lola was a woman of deep faith. Prayer is a staple in the Jackson household. Mom ensured all her children learn to pray at an early age. Lola enjoyed going to gospel concerts with Robert. Lola became a devout member of the Jehovah’s Witness Kingdom Hall. She was baptized in the faith on December 6, 1992.
Lola leaves to cherish her memory three sons Robert E. (Iris) Jackson of Woodbridge, Virginia, Charles H. (Trish) Jackson of Grasonville, Maryland, Gregory O. (Carol) Jackson of Stevensville, Maryland, a daughter Lorrie A. Harrison of Annapolis, four grandsons Aaron O. Johnson, Trey O. Jackson, Trent G. Jackson, and Traton H. Jackson, three granddaughters Chevelle D. Brown, Dannette S. Vest and Takeia C. Jackson, a son-in-law Dan A. Johnson, one brother Rudolph C. (Pat) Holland, one sister Emma Holland, two sisters-in-law Mabel Smith and Rebecca Jackson, two bonus grandchildren Marcus and Denise Craig.
Lola was preceded in death by her husband Robert O. Jackson, daughter Lola Jean Downs Johnson, her father and mother Henry and Mazie Holland, her granddaughter Lashay Tyree Moulden, two brothers Lester and John Holland, four sisters Dorothy Rawlings, Edith Parker, Diane Brown, and Bernice Watkins; Mother-in Law Anna Elizabeth Jackson, five brothers-in-law Merriam Lisbon Jr (Libo), Calvin, and Charles G. Jackson and Philip C Williams, two sisters-in-law Juanita and Carmelita Sterrett, a son-in-law Gerald Mack, and a bonus grandson Jeffrey Hairston.
Lola also leaves 11 great-grandchildren, nine great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
Public visitation will take place on Tuesday July 23rd 2024 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am with a celebration of life service to follow at Lasting Tributes Funeral Home at 814 Bestgate Road Annapolis, Maryland 21401 with interment to follow at Bestgate Memorial Park located at the same address.
