Leanna Josephine Lawson's Obituary
Leanna Josephine Lawson, 15, of Pasadena, MD, passed away peacefully on March 26, 2026, after courageously battling Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia and Acute Myeloid Leukemia for the past three and half years.
Leanna was born on February 15, 2011 to Michael Joseph Lawson and Tabitha Irene Lawson in Bremerton, Washington. Though her time on earth was far too brief, she filled every moment with a depth of love and conviction that many never reach in a lifetime. A fierce competitor and a joyful spirit, she found her greatest happiness on the soccer field. As a defender on the Azzurri Rush Soccer Team, Pasadena Wolfpack Soccer Team, and an honorary member of the United States Naval Academy Women’s Soccer Team, she inspired those around her with strength and unwavering courage.
She loved deeply and without hesitation - her parents, siblings, friends and family were her world. She was a true daddy’s girl, sharing an unbreakable bond of love, admiration, and comfort. Her and her mom enjoyed watching Gilmore Girls on loop and doing crafts and art. Her gentle heart extended to every creature she met, especially her beloved dogs - Phoebe, Wamby, Rosie and Dozer. She showed everyone around her what it means to fight with grace, to love without limits and to live an extraordinary life. She leaves behind a legacy not defined by years, but by the countless lives she touched and changed forever.
Leanna is survived by her parents, Michael Lawson and Tabitha Lawson, her brother Michael Lawson, Jr., her sister Cassandra Lawson, her Aunt and Uncle Melissa Horvath (Lawson) and Christian Horvath, her cousins Noah Horvath, Lucia Horvath, Ian Horvath, her grandmother on her father’s side Judith Lawson, her grandmother and grandfather on her mother’s side Wanda Harris and Leland Harris, and her great grandmother Juanita Harris.
Services will be held at the Brigade of Midshipmen Chapel, United States Naval Academy on April 10th, 2026 at 11:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, a GoFundMe, https://www.gofundme.com/f/support-for-leannas-family-after-her-passing, has been set up to help cover the costs of the remaining hospital bills and to allow for adequate bereavement leave from their place of employment.
