Lawrence Edward Turner's Obituary
Lawrence E. Turner departed this life peacefully on Wednesday, September 16, 2015 at his home after a short illness. He was born on September 2, 1942 to Allen Turner, Jr. and Gertrude Little Owens in Annapolis, Maryland. Lawrence lived in Arnold, Maryland and received his formal education in the public school system of Anne Arundel County.
On September 2, 1972, Lawrence was united in marriage to Emily R. Watkins of Harwood, Maryland. He was previously employed at The Maryland Inn and Harbor House Restaurants and Anne Arundel County Recreations and Parks in Annapolis, Maryland. He later became employed with Bay Area Cleaning and Janitorial Services and was a faithful employee until his brief illness. Lawrence was preceded in death by his father, mother, grandparents (Edward and Jennette Little), and son (Kirk Turner, Sr.).
Lawrence was loved by all who knew him and he loved a hearty laugh and a round of golf. He is survived by his wife, Emily Turner, two daughters (Lavon Henson (Kenny) and Erica Hall (Jason) of Arnold, Maryland; and, two sons (Troy Lewis (Adele) and Shawn Lewis of Sacramento, California. Lawrence will be sadly missed by his nine (9) grandchildren: Kirk Jr., Ebony, Chanelle, LeMonte, Tara, Simone, Victoria, Jaiah, and Ashley; and his three (3) great-grandchildren: Nevaeh, Kamari, and Kai-ya.
Lawrence was the first grandchild of the Turner family and he will be missed by his, sisters: Pearl Whitfield; Deborah Huey (Calvin); Yvonne Hunt (Kernell); Peggy Pergerson, and Julie Little; brothers: Harold Little, Jr. (Junita); Thomas Little (Glossie); and, Leon Turner; aunts: Cecelia “Brimmy” Avery (Willie); Annabelle Herbert; and, Elizabeth Evans.
Sister In-Laws: Ethel Thompson; Laura Salisbury (Dewayne); Lucille Offer (Lawrence); Shelia Reid; Mamie Simms (John); Frances Turner (Joseph); and, Sandy Simms (Tommy); Brother In-Laws: Wesley Watkins (Ellen Jane); George Watkins (Josephine); and Joseph Watkins (Regina).
He also leaves a host of nieces, nephews and cousins to cherish his memories and two devoted nephews (Kirk Thompson and Lionel Lofland). Oh how we will miss his trademark
