Lawrence M. Kelly's Obituary
Lawrence M. Kelly died Friday, February 22, 2013 at Renaissance Gardens at Charlestown Retirement Community in Catonsville, MD.
Mr. Kelly was born November 22, 1928 in Kalamazoo, Michigan to Leo and Eula Lawrence Kelly. Lawrence graduated for the US Military Academy at West Point in June 1951 and went on to serve in Korea, Germany, and many stateside locations as an artillery officer and ROTC instructor. In April of 1967 he earned a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Michigan. In 1978, Lawrence began a career in Federal Civil Service in Battle Creek, Michigan. He moved to Maryland in 2004, where he resided until his death.
He is survived by two sisters: Mary Ellen Thompson of Gambrills, MD and Sybil Pickett of Virginia Beach, VA; one brother: Dennis E. Kelly (Jean) of Lake Elmo, MN; 7 nieces and nephews; and 12 great nieces and nephews.
A memorial mass will be held at Charlestown Retirement Community, 715 Maiden Choice Ln, Catonsville, MD 21228 on February 28, 2013 at 11am in Our Lady of the Angels Chapel. Burial will take place in Decatur, MI at a later date.
