Larry was my neighbor and became a friend. He'd sit outside and read his paper with his shadows, Snickers and Buddy. My dog would hear Larry and his pups, and head in their direction. I'd follow and we would wind up sitting and talking, for a hour or so. Such a good soul.
Laura and Zach, we are so very sorry to hear this. As you well know, Larry was a very giving person. He was a friend and beloved coach to our family. We remember fondly all those years together in basketball and how dedicated he was to teaching kids. He will be greatly missed!!
Larry has been one of my best friends since the day we met in our freshman year at the U. of MD. We played freshman football together and formed our friendship as we won a number of games in the last minute and started calling ourselves the "cardiac kids". Over the course of our time at Maryland, Larry, Don "Bo" Rhodes, Jimmy Hagan and I were inseparable. We all shared some incredible times together. The stories I could tell, most inappropriate for this site, are too numerous but suffice it to say they forged bonds that exist until today.
I loved Larry Dickson! There is no other way to say it and a hole is left in my heart with his passing that will never heal. I will miss you my friend but my faith allows me to believe that we will meet again when my time comes. Until then, I will have to be satisfied with the wonderful times we shared together. RIP my friend.

I was so sorry to hear about Larry. My deepest sympathy goes out to Larry's family and friends. His life was cut too short but I know he lived it to it's fullest! I have a lot of great memories of Larry during his Terps years and will always remember him with a smile!
