I was a patient of Laurie's, I just learned of her passing today and I am heartbroken. I met Laurie over 10 years ago when I first moved here. She always had a smile when I saw her, she encouraged me during rough times and always treated me with genuine caring and respect. She truly had a gift for counseling and was a terrific listener. I could literally tell her anything without fear of judgment. I know she loved her children with all her heart. We talked about our kids often. she was so proud of her daughter's career and I remember how cool it was to hear that her son was a writer of science fiction, because I also love it :) I will miss her terribly, she was a wonderful mother and an exceptional human being

My heartfelt sympathy to all of Laurie's family. I have many fond memories growing up especially when we all were at NaNa's and Pop's. A lot of walks with one eye making sure the cows didnt come to close. Playing in the wooden shed and of course talking about boys, clothing and make-up. I always thought Laurie was special especially since she shared NaNa's birthday. Lifting you all up in prayer.
Love
