LaShawn Pindell-Coffman's Obituary
LaShawn Rosetta Pindell-Coffman, 32, the daughter of Nola and George Pindell, Sr., was born January 27, 1983, in Annapolis, MD. On July 27, 2015, God dispatched His angels to go to LaShawn's home and blessed her with eternal rest.
She received her early education a the Heritage Learning Center and the Book of Life Academy. She furthered her education in the Anne Arundel County Public Schools and attended Annapolis Middle School and graduated from Annapolis Senior High School in 2001. She continued her education and matriculated through Morgan State University and received her bachelor's degree in Family Consumer Sciences. She also attended the University of Maryland and University of Notre Dame, where she received her master's degree in Elementary Education. She was currently employed with the Anne Arundel County Public Schools as a first grade teacher at the Pershing Hill Elementary School in Fort Meade, MD.
She was a lifetime member of Cecil Memorial United Methodist Church and served as the President of the Communion Stewards, Superintendent of Sunday School, Vacation Bible School teacher, and was a member of the Young Adult Ministry. She was also a member of A Tribute to Women of Color.
LaShawn loved to travel with her husband and friends. She traveled to Paris, France (twice), The Bahamas, Los Angeles, California, Cancun, Mexico, the Cayman Islands, Ochorios, Jamaica, Las Vegas, Nevada, New Orleans, Louisiana, and Manhattan, New York. Her hobbies were arts and crafts, drawing, painting, puzzles, horseback riding, sky diving, zip lining, parasailing, snorkeling, hiking, zumba, and tennis. She enjoyed swimming with the stingrays, dolphins, and manatees, and watching horror movies and true crime stories.
She was preceded in death by her brother, George “Georgie” Pindell, Jr.; and grandparents, Mary and Isaac Tongue.
LaShawn leaves to mourn and cherish her precious memories her loving and devoted husband, Joseph Coffman, whom she married a year ago on July 26, 2014; her parents, Nola and George Pindell, Sr.; brother, James Jones Pindell; mother- and father-in-law, Marta and William Coffman; grandmother, Pearl Fuller; aunts, Margaret Beans (Jimmy), Pam Bodley, Rose Marie Allen (Marvin), Henrietta Boggs, Mary Edith Griffith, and Catherine Poole; uncles Donald Fuller, Stanley Tongue (Charlotte), James Pindell, Reginald Tongue, and Jerry Tongue; sister-in-law, Rachel Coffman; and a host of dear cousins, other relatives, and devoted friends, as well as her dogs Pebbles, and her newest addition, Scoobee. LaShawn will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her.
